Events & Courses

All events are subject to change, particularly the workshop nights. Please check this page regularly to ensure that the details of an event you are interested in attending have not changed.

The Guild offers a range of course nights at a small cost for materials. These are held on Monday nights at McDougall House, and cater for both members and non-members. These courses are a great way to start your bookbinding, and are run on a regular basis. The courses run as a progressive series, so attending a number of them will help your skills, as a range of different binding styles and techniques are demonstrated over a number of nights or weekends.

Check the list of events below to see when the next courses will be run. However, the courses often have waitlists. If you cannot make a course that you have booked for, please contact the Secretary so that someone else may take up the place.

Evening courses are at McDougall House in Como, off Clydesdale Street and start at 6:00pm, going through to 9:00pm each evening. Weekend courses are done at the Roleystone Family Centre on Wygonda Road in Roleystone, and start at 9:00 am and go through to 4:00pm. You must register in order to attend, as places are very limited. Payments are made either by direct funds transfer before the course starts, or by cash at the start of the course.

For details of the courses themselves, see our page on classes.
