The results of the Royal Show competition are now available. As always, a big congratulations to not only the winners, but also to all those who took the time and effort to put entries in.
I was recently asked if I could repair a set of nine bound volumes of The Engineer magazine.
The next beginners course has been scheduled, starting immediately (September 2013). We expect to be able to fit another one in this year, and then we will follow up with an advanced course.
The 2013 annual general meeting for the WA Craft Bookbinders Guild is scheduled for September 30th September.
The annual Craft Show has been and gone, and as always it was a very successful event.
Member David was recently given a most unusual plough and press. They were obviously both craft made, but had some very interesting ideas incorporated into them.
The Guild recently received a book vise courtesy of one of the members. The vise is used to clamp a book so that its spine can be worked on.
We not only have a supply of adhesive back in stock, and all nicely decanted into easily managed pots, but we have also received our order of marbling supplies from Turkey.
Our first appearance at the annual Fayre organised by the Western Australian Medieval Alliance proved to be a wonderful day in the beautiful Supreme Court Gardens.
